Security levels and roles
After the initial setup in Oracle where dental institutions set a single security level for administrators to manage the PatientAccess CMS, you can modify the default security method required for accessing the PatientAccess CMS, or modify the security level or security role to access the PatientAccess CMS.
Note: If you change any of these default settings, you may be unable to sign back in to the CMS.
You can specify whether the system checks an administrator’s security role, or checks both the security role and the security level at login.
To modify the default security method used for checking users access to the PatientAccess CMS:
- 1 to set access by security role.
- 2 to set access by security level and by security role.
- Click the Save button.
Administrators who have the security level set in the Security.AdminLevel box can log in to the CMS. By default, users require security level "1" to access the PatientAccess CMS.
Note: To change the security level, the Security.AdminType box must specify either 0 or 2.
To modify the security level required to access the CMS:
- On the Settings tab, click CMS.
- Select the contents of the Security.AdminLevel box, and enter the ID of the desired security level.
Note: The value of this field must be set to the SLEVEL.SLevel value of the security level in the axiUm database.
- Click the Save button.
For dental institutions with multiple PatientAccess CMS administrators, who have axiUm user accounts of different security levels, you can assign a CMS role to more than one security level. This allows administrators to log in to the CMS using their axiUm accounts. axiUm users who have the security role set in the Security.AdminRole box can log in to the PatientAccess CMS.
Note: To change a user’s security role, the Security.AdminType must be configured to 1or 2.
To define access to the CMS by security role:
- On the Settings tab, click CMS.
- Select the contents of the Security.AdminRole box, and enter the ID of the desired security role.
Note: The value of this field must be set to the SROLE.SRole value of the security role in the axiUm database.
- Click the Save button.
